Small, Collector’s Chest of Drawers

(3 x Friday, Saturday, Sunday weekends) $1,540.00

May 20, 21 & 22 – May 27, 28 & 29 - June 10, 11 & 12 9am to 4pm with 1 hour lunchbreak.

Designed to sit on a sideboard or larger chest, this delightful little chest of 6 drawers is the ultimate course in time-proven, traditional carcase and drawer construction methods. The student is taken through the various aspects of wood movement considerations when designing casework, but the highlight of this course is the journey of demystifying the complex and demanding process of fine, drawer design, construction and fitting. Upon completion, the participant should be able to tackle both the design and construction process of much larger case-piece projects in the future. The first weekend of this course will be dedicated to the construction of the carcase while the last 2 weekends will be a master-class in drawer making. This course is suitable for intermediate to accomplished woodworkers who wish to fast track their hand-skills. Chest dimensions: 370w x 215h x 275d. Choice of Jarrah or Blackbutt. Tasmanian Blackwood – extra $50.00
